A summary of the weekend’s games - starting the year with a clean sweep!

Great win for the 1s against a competitive Chosen Hill side. Strong D, hard carries, good ball retention and playing to the game plan led to a bonus point. BOP went to Schnollie for being all over the park and a break away try from halfway. Serious gas and one to keep an eye on when he’s back from injury.
Chosen Hill 25 - 32 Old Bristolians

Big shift put in from the 2nd XV against a well drilled Bristol Telephones side. OBs dealt well with their big ball carrying centres and managed to make hard yards through the forwards before using the backs out wide. Tries scored by George, Slammy, Andreas and Potter to seal a 22-19 win. Honourable mentions to Strangy’s boot getting us out of trouble on numerous occasions and all the forwards for their dog in both attack and D. BOP goes to Simms, absolute animal at the breakdown. Massive thanks to Telephones for turning up and their coach for reffing.
OBs 2s 22 - 19 Bristol Telephone Area

3s played away at St Brendan’s and got a great result, coming away with a BP victory with tries from Giddings, Ted and Chop x 2. BOP could have gone to a handful of players, including Matt Law for his strong running and Cullen for (almost) perfection from the boot, but Dave Turner gets the nod for his all round game and deceptively good speed for a front row reject. Straight back to it next week against Sarries.
SBOB 2s 19 - 29 OBs 3s
