OBs U15's beat premier Gloucestershire U15's side in nail biting encounter.

The result we wanted ...a victory, but that's not even half the story.
There is no doubt we witnessed an amazing game.
Not a pretty one mind but more importantly one that showed the lads demonstrating a fierce pride and a commitment to each other that has overshadowed any game that has gone before.
The belief and determination exhibited was present in every single minute of that game, in every play, in every tackle, every ruck clear out and surging run. Even when Hucclecote turned the screw in the scrum and tackled like their lives depended on it, the lads kept their focus, pulled together and drove again. Their fitness was supreme, their game plans productive and the high level of communications between players allowed for thrusting counter attacks and brick wall defence when required.

Thanks to our roving reporter Jonathan West with iPad in hand he filed the following highlights for us to relive some of those mouthwatering moments

Andy's run from the restart, offload from the floor to a supporting player and the team intelligence to set up Tom in the 10 channel from the ruck from where he went over for our first try after Hucclecote led 5-0 at half time. Score 5-5

Nicks charge down of the 9 box kick which after a couple of rucks resulted in quick hands along the back row and centers to release Alfie for his first OBs score. Score 10-5

The match winning play was Dan's clearance kick form our 5m line that sailed over their Full Back on the half way line and allowed us to play the rest of the match in their 22.

The tackling and recycling of the ball by whole team. Have we ever seen better against such a tough opposition ?

Of course there are still some things to work on, as any good team will recognise but lets be satisfied with the spirit in which the squad played and their core belief that if they play like that in all the remaining games the Gloucester Cup may well be spending some time in the OBs clubhouse from April onwards.
