The Colts scored 5 tries to 1 in a keenly contested match with Royal Wootton Bassett on the 4G pitch at BGS. RWB had the better of the scrums overall, but great defensive pressure in the midfield meant they were unable to translate their possession in to territory and points. Meanwhile, some great forward momentum up front from the Colts, plus judicious use of our pace out wide, gave us the momentum we needed to score
One area for us to work on was the attacking rucks - we failed to react a number of times when RWB counter-rucked and ball which should have been set up for phase-play or being shipped wide ended up with RWB on the counter attack.
A real positive feature was the reaction from within the team (with no input from the coaches) when RWB scored - clear definition of what had gone wrong and actions to rectify it.
