U14's finish the season on a high

50-15 win over Nailsea & Backwell rounds off a "good day at the office" for U14 age group
Well done to the 14 boys who got over to play Nailsea and Backwell on Sunday as the final match of the season.
With Old Bristolians squad being depleted with 12 players involved at the Combination sevens (well done BTW to those in getting to the final - losing to Clifton), Old Bs fielded a development squad captained by Elliott Sturge.
Playing with the slope and a strong wind at their backs, Old Bs made the most of the slope and some weak tackling to run in 4 unanswered tries in the first half- Adam 1, Elliott 1 and Sam Larkins 2.
We discussed at half time that we needed to improve on the rucking (rucking beyond the ball) and the restarts. Old B's put in a great effort in the second half, scoring a further 6 tries (Larkins 4, Adam 1, Elliott 1) keeping up the intensity and never allowing N & B much possession.
There were some good performances by the squad, Adam at Fly Half, Kieran Gibbons did some great work at the break down and Henry Cheek performed well at Scrum Half.
In the forwards, the line out went well and we had spells in the second half where we recycled possession quickly to allow the backs to run in tries. Xavier and Elliott did some strong running and Elliott led the side well throughout.
Well done to all the lads this season and we look forward to seeing you all next September, refreshed and ready to play U15 rugby.
