OBs 1st Xv kept up their winning run with an attritional victory in attrocious conditions away at Gordano.
OBs dominated the first half spending the majority of the half in and around their opponents 22. A penalty from Jack Price and a try from Andy Flower were the only scores of the half that saw Gordano dominate the scrummages of which there were plenty.
In the second half conditions worsened and the game became bogged down in the OBs 22. Outstanding defence kept the home side at bay and despite a string of penalties and scrum dominance Gordano could not get over the line. With 15 minutes to go Centre Alex Blackwell was binned for side entry. 4 minutes later OBs went down to 13 when Wayne Cochran was binned for a succession of offences. Having turned down a number of kicks at goal Gordano chose to take the 3.
Then from the restart Gordano gave away a penalty 30m out. Up stepped Jack Price to stretch the OBs lead.
That was to be the final score giving the boys their ninth league win. Tom Gould was man of the match.
