Old B's do the double over Chosen Hill but match is abandoned.

Old Bs defeated Chosen Hill seven tries to two in an ill disciplined game.

From the outset referee Andy Gibson attempted to set out his stall with early warning to the Chosen scrum half who was appealing and complaining. As the game unfolded the ongoing questioning and arguing was to lead to the eventual abandonment.

Old Bs started well with a try after 5 minutes from No 8 Wayne Cockram. Playing down the slope the B's pressed Chosen further and further into their twenty two. After Andy Greens obvious try was disallowed hooker Jon Whiteman drove to within inches. Chosen did well to turn him over and cleared well to halfway. From the resulting lineout OBs maintained possession through a series of phases before Jack Price broke through to put Barney Nelson away for the first of his three tries. Price converted.

From the restart the Chosen Captain was issued with a yellow for persistent infringement on the floor. Chosen did well to rally and scored their first try.

From the kick off two quick yellow cards followed for Chosen. The first for persistent offside, and the second for a tip tackle.

The Old Boys reacted well and pressured Chosen again. Chosen turned over the ball and kicked open only for Trepan Taylor to field and counter. Tref ran in off his wing only to switch play with a perfect scissor with Hunty who scored in the corner.

From the restart OBs scored a 1st Phase try against the 13 men. Wayne broke well from the base of a scrum gaining 10 metres before putting Jack through a hole. Jack made a further 10 before off loading to Hunty for his second.

Back up to 15 Chosen gained field position from a penalty driving deep into the OBs 22. From the resulting line out a good drive saw them score their second try.

OBs bounced straight back with two more tries from Barney and one from Jack. Jack converting two of them.

In 61st minute with Chosen 5metres from the home try line they conceded yet another penalty. Frustration boiled over with a small skirmish. The referee called both Captains in. Chosen were issued with a warning as more abuse flew in the referees direction. Despite the referees warning the Chosen skipper continued to argue and another player verbally abused the official. At that point the game was abandoned.

We now await to see what the league decide to do re the result.
