Second loss in a row but fourth place maintained

This was a highly physical encounter which Chew Valley edged in the second half purely because of the physicality and extra weight they brought into the game. In an evenly matched first half both sides scored two converted tries with the OBs scores coming from Scrum half Andy Green and hooker Jon Whitman. Jack Price converting both.
At 14 all at half time it was a difficult encounter to call.

To their credit Chew started the stronger and struck twice at the beginning of the half to stretch out a lead that was never to be closed. OBs responded with a penalty from Price only for Chew to go over from a driving maul on 60 minutes. At 33 :17 the game was all but over, & on a heavy sapping pitch you would have thought so. But the never say die attitude of OBs meant they kept battering away and in the 78th minute with both sides out on their feet Simon Hunt cut a great diagonal line to score close to the posts. Price converted. The kick off was the last play. OBs valiantly kept the ball alive for 4 minutes in an attempt to get bonus points before a knock on brought the final whistle.

A great game of rugby enjoyed by a large crowd.
